…but they call me ‘Little Ninja’.

Besides being quite small in stature, I love to quietly get around on set capturing all of those moments that people tend to forget. If I’m doing my job correctly, hopefully you won’t notice me whilst I capture those images to market your project.

My Bio

I’ve always loved photography – I was that one friend who always had a camera in hand, everywhere I went. I also love movies and the way they’re made – I had to watch all of the extras on the DVD long after the film had finished. Imagine my delight when I found out I could combine those two passions! Being a photographer on a set was the dream job I never new existed up until a few years ago. A friend of mine asked me to take photos on a quick shoot for an audition they were filming and it was instant. I had fallen in love with the very unique and even more exclusive world of Unit Stills Photography.

Since then, I’ve completed a Film Stills course with Nicola Dove and worked on a wide range of short films, a music video, a documentary and even an upcoming feature and can’t wait to get involved in more projects.

Highlights from Rowena

One highlight for me was when I flew over to Queensland to take part in one of Jasin Boland’s Stunt Experiences in 2017. I listened to Jasin talk about his life on the set of many films and afterwards, we took our own action photos of some of the nicest stunt people in Queensland. It was a great day to be part of!

Ninja has the ability to capture people in their truest form onset and sometimes captures the most unexpected images as well. As a film family my kids have worked with Rowena on a number of different film sets over the years and I’m always so excited to see what BTS shots she manages to get. We call her ninja because you never even realise she’s there! But boy does she get some great shots❤️ I would highly recommend Rowena to any filmmaker looking to get those special shots for marketing.. she’s worth it😊
