Hi, I'm Sonja
Sonja Blietschau
I love people and I love what I do.
Photography has been a part of my life for over 20 years. In the past I have professionally photographed landscapes, football teams, weddings, events, dancer, actors, business people and then some.
Now, my photographic love is deeply rooted in photographing people in my studio (headshots & portraits) and photographing people on set.
Let’s work together!

The best & friendliest photographer around
I have worked with Sonja on multiple projects and she is always my go to photographer. Her skills are amazing and she always captures the best moments and scenes but more than that, she is one of the most friendliest people on set. Sonja is like a ninja, silently capturing great skills without obstructing the shoot.
She is my go to photographer and she should be yours to :)

Òran na h-Eala
Sonja spent a day with us on our short film taking behind the scenes and promotional shots.
We had a very busy day filming at interior and exterior locations and Sonja was very helpful, particularly on the location shoot where we needing some help with transport logistics as she kindly drove me back to base to retrieve a key prop!
I would wholeheartedly recommend Sonja and I know she is well regarded and sought after as one of the best in the business. I hope to work with her again on my next project, she gives an unequivocal 5 star service!

Wonderful Photographer
I’ve worked with Sonja on a couple of shoots recently where she did BTS and unit stills and she’s honestly one of the best. What Sonja seems to do in her photography, I think, is really capture the truth of a moment in the most empathetic way. In her unit stills, she really gets the vision of what needs to be captured. I loved working with her so much that I had her take some portraits of me as I really wanted some images that authentically represented me and my work. In so doing, these images feel like the most representative of me as I am right now. I can’t thank Sonja enough for being present with me and for making that shoot such a joy and a privilege and for being a wonderful presence on the sets I’ve shared with her.

Dirty Water
I affectionately referred to Sonja as the photo ‘ninja’ on the first shoot we did together called ‘Dirty Water’, due to her impeccable ability to shoot both stills and BTS without anyone realising she had done so (and so many too.) This is in small part due to her stature but predominantly thanks to her instinctive and ingenious timing and positioning. Having seen her work on other productions, I came away feeling bad that we didn’t have more exotic locations for her to shoot. Given it was a sitcom based in flatly lit offices and high rise flats, I don’t have many photos that does Sonja’s work justice so I have just attached my fondest photo. Last, but not least, Sonja brings a wonderful energy to set. She is as beautiful a person as her photos. If you do not hire Sonja, you are missing out.
