Hi, I'm Michele

Michele Dillon

I am passionate about working as part of a team to capture performances, action and emotion in feature films and in television dramas here in Scotland and the UK. I am a passionate traveller and am happy to travel with productions both in the UK and internationally.

I also specialise in keeping a low profile to be able to document not only key scenes and performances, but also behind-the-scenes on set. I like to showcase the dynamic work of the team and also funny moments on set.

My Bio

I am obsessed with observing others. I love watching and learning body language and guessing someone’s next move – for fun. It’s a great skill to have on set! I was so excited to buy myself my first ever DSLR aged 19. I did go on to work in Television – on the production side. And it’s only when I met an inspirational lecturer a few years later that I gave up my work to dive into becoming a professional photographer – learning from the basics up.

A renowned feature film producer asked me to work on one of his feature films documenting behind the scenes. I adore this aspect of shooting as there are so many little stories that arise. I was told that I bring an upbeat positivity on set when I work. So much so, that the same producer promoted me to official stills photographer on his next 2 feature films. I’m eternally grateful.

Highlights from Michele

I have been so fortunate to work with equally passionate film professionals including the producer, Cyrus Patel – who always trusts you to deliver what is required, and values your contributions. I have also had the pleasure of working with renowned director Arun Gopalan and producer Zina Khan, who welcomed stills as an important part of production.
Productions are their own beast. I recall awaiting the arrival of an actress to be photographed in an old warehouse. The celebrated actress rushed in and apologised for being late: she had to put her head in a sink in this dilapidated warehouse and have her hair dyed before the shoot. One of the most memorable moments I’ve had before a shoot.
