I worked in broadcasting for almost 30 years (with BBC Radio, Discovery, Channel 5 and Channel 4) and as a result, I’m acutely aware of the sheer hard work that goes into getting anything on air or committed to film. As well as the curveballs that get lobbed in during the process; sonic booms, royal deaths, high-profile arrests, terror attacks, you name it and I’ve had to work around it. I’ve always had difficulty getting served in pubs so I now use my invisibility shield to my advantage when working on set and pride myself on getting shots no one realised I was taking.
